02:38 pm - Damn weather
The weather is killing!! It doesn't help that my car is like a mini oven :( I'm waiting for Lynn at Cheeky Chocolate. She's late! Haha. Lucky here got free Internet. At work today I made waffle variations. Love the chocolate waffle!! I'm contemplating if I wanna spend 500 for a very good ice cream machine.. 02:21 pm - back from hk hk was damn fun! after 3 times there, this is probably the only time where i shopped so much and ate so much! haha.. food's so good and cheap i even ate roast meat... which i never ever do in singapore but the one we had in HK was surprisingly lean.. and the skin was crispy dong recommended all the right shopping places to go, got most of the things for a steal. wheee
doing another internship now. work hours is good and pay is good.. only working from 9-1.30, so i can continue to give tuition and probably find other part time too.. need to earn back the money i spent.

11:11 pm - holidays.. and more to come :)
life has been so slack after my one and only exam paper. i know it's supposed to be but i kinda hope i'm doing much more. bleh. but i did manage to spend some good time baking a lot, and attending baking courses. should do more of those.
got inspired to make cream puff after watching some japanese drama haha. and the chocolate roses were created for mother's day. and that's when i realized that tempering with chocolate is quite difficult, especially in the hot and humid weather like Singapore. i'm going to hk on thurs to next weds! so excited! looking forward to the eating and shopping :))) but there's gonna be limited dim sum for me to eat since i dun eat prawn.. bleh :P i'm gonna gobble lots of char siew bao and desserts instead! yums! should i bring only 3 days worth of clothes to hk? hmmm..

08:49 pm - Ice Cream: Try 1; Try 2
The first time using the ice cream maker was a big big flop! I didn't know i had to freeze the cooling unit for 18 to 24 hours, and the chocolate ice cream mixture i prepared remained a mixture. :( i made do with leaving the mixture in the freezer, taking it out and beating it and freezing it again. Of cause the ice cream had a rough texture due to the large ice crystals formation within. And the ice cream was way too sweet. Tried again today, this time leaving the cooling unit in the freezer for almost a week. I made oreo ice cream this time and the machine worked! I managed to get real soft and creamy ice cream this time.
But it melted too quickly. And it's too yellow; i think it's due to the egg yolks. either i didn't beat them enough or i added too many egg yolks. I got mixed opinions regarding the chucks of oreo cookies in the ice cream. but i think it's better to have them more finely crushed. The vanilla taste is a little too strong though i added only 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract.
Will try again! I feel like making cookies though.
